Product Description

Are you looking for a reliable opener for your out-swing carriage doors? Look no further! The Franklin Autoswing® is the answer. Brilliantly engineered, this automatic opener offers quiet operation and delivers superior torque.

As America’s premier builder of carriage doors, Real Carriage Door & Sliding Hardware developed the Franklin with its European manufacturer directly, tailoring it to suit carriage doors. The Franklin Autoswing will meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

The Franklin system is mounted just above the doors, leaving the ceiling clear of any track system overhead, facilitating accent lighting and vertical lifts for a more usable, attractive space. Each low-voltage motor is housed in a sleek enclosure featuring a keyed knob for manual override. Once installed, the Franklin Autoswing is ready to operate with minimal programming. The one step auto-set feature programs the door to operate with minimum required torque for maximum safety.

While we recommend a professional installer, many builders, contractors and homeowners install the Franklin Autoswing successfully. Whether you are a homeowner or professional installer, your full warranty applies.

The Franklin Autoswing now comes with a full three-year manufacturer’s warranty. This impressive opener has an impeccable service record and meets or exceeds UL 325 Safety Standards

Real Carriage Door customers receive prompt, knowledgeable technical support and customer service. Take advantage of free shipping on orders of $75 or more when shipped within the contiguous US and Canada. (Please call for shipping rates to Alaska, Hawaii and international locations.)

Flat Track Hardware

Flat Track Sizes:

"How do I choose a track size?"
Simply double the size of your door(s) to determine the proper track length. Example: a 36" wide door will need a 6' track. Example: (2) 36" wide doors will require 12' of track.

Quantity of doors on track:

"What's this?"
Please tell us how many doors you wish to hang on this hardware track.

Finish Options:

"Tell me more… "
Choose from a variety of powder coated finishes or raw steel. Our powder coated finishes consist of a durable baked-on finish. All powder coated finishes have a matte finish.

Wheel Style:

"Tell me more … "
Choose from a variety of wheel options such as a standard matching steel wheel or a matching Hush wheel. Or upgrade to a stainless steel wheel or a stainless steel Hush wheel. Hush wheels are made of a high quality, durable polymer and make for smooth, ultra-quiet operation.

Fastener Option:

"What's this?"
This refers to carriage bolts (which attach the hanger to the door) and lag bolts (which help secure the track to the wall). Choosing your fastener finish lets you customize the look of your hardware kit to your liking.

Door Thickness:

"Why do I need to specify a door thickness"
We ask for door thickness so we know what size of carriage bolt to include in the hardware kit. Carriage bolts attach the hanger to the door. If your door's thickness falls between sizes, simply round up to the next available size.

End Stop Option:

"What is an end stop"
End stops keep the door from flying off the track. Standard end stops are designed to fit at the far ends of the track, secured by the lag bolts. Adjustable end stops slide along the rail and tighten down with set screws wherever you wish.

Bottom Guide:

"What's this?"
The Bottom Guide keeps the door steady. The T-Guide is a floor mounted guide that requires a groove in the bottom of the door. The C-Guide is a floor mounted guide that cups the bottom of the door and is also available in an adjustable option. The Wall Mounted Stay Roller is a wall mounted guide that works with doors from 1-1/2" to 2-3/4" thick. This is an ideal guide for extra thick doors and exterior applications.

Add a Teardrop Lock:

"What's this?"
A teardrop lock is a lock especially designed for interior sliding doors. It provides privacy and is a popular choice for bathroom and bedroom applications. It can be opened from the other side in case of an emergency with a credit card. Note: teardrop locks are not compatible with ledger boards.

Add Drywall Anti-crush Rings:

"What's this?"
Drywall anti-crush rings will protect your drywall when mounting hardware directly to the wall. Each pack contains 1/2" rings and 1/8" rings, and there are 5 of each. Note: Blocking in the wall is required to mount your hardware directly to the wall. These rings merely act as spacers between the blocking and the standoff.

Add ¼” Standoff Extensions:

"What's this?"
All Flat Track hanger styles (except top-mounted Aero) require a minimum clearance of 3/8” between the door and wall or existing molding. Use 1/4" standoff extensions to achieve the necessary clearance.

Add a Matching Skyrise Flush Pull:

"What's this?"
A Skyrise flush pull is a sleek, rectangular, steel recessed pull that allows you to open and close your sliding door with ease. See the Skyrise product page for more details.

Add the new Soft Stop:

"What's this?"
The soft stop is a hidden mechanism that brings your door to a soft, silent close rather than the door banging against the end of the track.

Add a ledger board:

"What's this?"
A ledger board is a sturdy piece of lumber to mount your hardware to, eliminating the need for wood blocking in the wall or custom flat track hole placement for difficult stud configurations.

Ledger board finish:

"What's this?"
After choosing your ledger board species, you can choose a finish such as a lacquer, white primer, or one of our weathered series shades.

Box Rail

Box Rail Mounting:

"What does this mean?"
Please specify whether you want to mount the hardware kit to the wall or the ceiling so we can ensure you receive the proper mounting brackets.

Lag Bolts:

"What's this?"
Here you can specify whether you would like to order lag bolts through us or supply your own. A variety of finishes is available for those who wish to order lags through us. Save a trip to the hardware store with our high quality lags.

Franklin Openers

Opener Battery Backup:

"What's this?"
The battery backup is an add-on that allows you to operate the Franklin opener despite power outages.

Homelink Compatibility:

"What's this?"
The Homelink Compatibility option is an add-on that allows you to operate your garage door system directly from your car.

Wireless Outdoor Keypad:

"What's this?"
The Wireless Outdoor Keypad is an add-on allowing you to enjoy exterior access to your doors without a remote. Operates up to 10 doors.

Wiring Kit for Remodel:

"What's this?"
Our wiring kit includes the approved, cut-to-length wiring we recommend for remodeling projects. Add to your opener order and save a trip to the hardware store.

AOCM Horsepower:

"Tell me more₀ "
This ceiling mounted opener for out-swing doors is available in either a ¾ or 1 horsepower option. The 24V DC motor allows up to 70 door movements per hour.

Push Rod Length:

"What's this?"
The AOCM includes standard push rods to accommodate an opening up to 108". Push rod extension upgrades are available for door openings of 109"-120", 121"-132" and 133"-156".

Pull Options:

"What's this?"
This pull is available in 12", 18" and 24" sizes.

Door Thickness:

"What's this?"
This pull is available for doors that are 1-3/8", 1-3/4" or 2-1/4" thick. Simply choose the best option for your door.

Barn Doors

Door Width:

"What's this?"
Simply choose the width of door you would like. Note: The barn door width should overlap the opening by at least 2".

Door Height:

"What's this?"
Simply choose the height of door you would like. Note: The barn door height should overlap the top of the opening by at least 1".

"What's this?"
Simply choose the style of door you would like. Note: Click on each option below to preview style in photos on left.

"What's this?"
Simply choose the finish color option you would like or select "None" if you plan to finish the door yourself. Note: Some door styles such as Weathered, Reclaimed, and Timeline not available in unfinished option.

Shop Applied Finish:

"What's this?"
Please tell us whether you would like us to apply the door finish for you by selecting "yes" or "no." If you choose "yes" we will ship the door pre-finished. If you choose "no" we will ship the door raw and include the finish you selected above.

Shop Pre-Assembly:

"What's this?"
We can ship the barn door pre-assembled or unassembled. If you would like us to pre-assemble the door for you, shipping it whole, choose "yes." If you would like the door shipped in pieces to assemble yourself, choose "no."

"I'm extremely pleased with the quality and finish of the classic barn door hardware. We installed five different doors in our latest project. We couldn't be happier with the fit and finish and ease of installation."
